PATH OF FREEDOM

The legal path for the Veneto people to regain their sovereignty over the territories of the Venetian nation is called DECOLONIZATION. This way, recognized by international law in the treaties that establish the principles of self-determination of peoples, was first undertaken by the Indian people who, in 1947, thanks to the work of the “mahatma” Gandhi, obtained liberation from the English colonial domination. A decade later the great decolonization of whole slices of the world still remained in European, American or Japanese hands began. Almost all of the African continent and most of Southeast Asia have seen the triumph of national liberation movements that fought for the fundamental freedoms and rights of every people. The last country to have historically obtained the “decolonization” was Macao, returned to China, in 1999.
